Experience the magic of Oslo Fjord in winter with Norway Yacht Charter's year-round sightseeing cruise. Sail aboard the historic S/S Helena through snow-dusted islands and past Oslo's iconic landmarks, all while staying warm with infrared heat lamps, cozy blankets and hot drinks. Our winter cruise operates daily from October to April, offering the same beautiful route as summer with added winter charm.
Winter Cruise with a Sailing Ship on Oslo Fjord ⛄
The Oslo Fjord sightseeing operates all year round aboard S/S Helena, which is perfectly equipped for the winter season. On cold days, we fire up infrared heat lamps on the main deck, so you can enjoy the spectacular views without freezing. We also provide cozy blankets and serve hot drinks on board throughout the winter season.
The Winter Route
On this classical Oslo fjord sightseeing, we pass through narrow idyllic coves and a maze of islands. Oslo has a unique location under the hills, and the fjord stretches almost into Oslo City Center. During the cruise, we sail past numerous famous landmarks including Akershus Fortress, the Opera House and Hovedøya island, as well as historic lighthouses. You can capture stunning winter photographs of the city from the "fjord angle."
Museum Stop at Bygdøy
The sailing ship stops at 12:20 at Bygdøynes, location of the Norwegian Maritime Museum, the Kon-Tiki Museum and Fram Polar Ship. The Viking Ship Museum and Norwegian Folk Museum are also located on the island, easily reached on foot from Bygdøynes.
First enjoy a refreshing 2-hour cruise, then disembark for those who wish to visit the museums. At 14:50, S/S Helena makes another stop at Bygdøynes to pick up passengers returning to City Hall - and for those joining mid-day. If you leave the boat at 14:50, you'll need to return on your own via bus no. 30 to the city center.
This winter cruise gives you an excellent impression of Norway's capital Oslo in its most atmospheric season.
